Hello All! We are wondering if there are any initiatives for enheriting docus from upstream datasets to avoid repeating the same docs/descriptions. If for example a looker dimension uses a single column from a view in bigquery that has documentation, can we somehow propagate this to the looker docs. Best!

@shy-island-99768 can you please add a feature request here? https://feature-requests.datahubproject.io/ Please add as much context as possible about when it would make sense to propagate documentation. How do you define similarity (e.g: Similar column name, column-level lineage, what about table-level descriptions? etc.).

@shy-island-99768: are you thinking here of the doc field for the Looker dimension as seen in DataHub? or actually propagating it to the Looker system itself?

I think those topics here are at least related. Maybe we could merge them... Propagate definitions and Propagate tags . That way they´ll get more votes 😁
