It would indeed make sense to be able to edit the description of a dataset from the UI, just like field description.

What are your use cases for editing descriptions? Updating the information that came from the db? Adding descriptions to entities without one? Richer text editing or brief blurbs?

For me it would be adding descriptions to entities. Richer text editing would also be nice, since it's more likely that dataset descriptors need at least a paragraph to describe what the dataset is about.
