Hello everyone, I am working as a data engineer and very new in DataHub. Me and my team are looking for a data governance and quality tool for our new project. We've been searching for the right tool for a while and we're stuck between two options: Datahub and Dataplex. As you may know Dataplex is a Google Cloud tool and we are working on Google BiqQuery but a bit confused about which tool to choose 🧐 Datahub also seems like a tool we can use as well. Could you please give some details about the advantages/disadvantages of Datahub over Dataplex? I wish you all have a great day!

I think the equivalent from gcp is Data Catalog not Dataplex. Datahub is about metadata, dataplex is a suite of tools from gcp including data catalog (i think). You can use the default offering from dataplex, but there are few more features from datahub as compared to data catalog (i only heard this from the team i used to work with), interface is more intuitive, support outside of gcp ecosystem is better.

Hi @modern-artist-55754, thanks for your answer. Actually, I recently examined Datahub in detail bu still have no much idea about Dataplex. It seems a bit hard to compare these tools without detailed info. We will make our decision after examining Dataplex. But I will be grateful for any additional information from other teammates :)
