This error is self explanatory. It wasn't able to connect to 
<http://datahubgms.dev.web.k8s.dts.dev|datahubgms.dev.web.k8s.dts.dev>
on port 
8080
. You need to check if there's anything like a firewall preventing the connection and if that's the right port and host.

Thanks for the response @billions-tailor-78534. Yeah I am using the right host and port. Not sure if it is a firewall issue. I have setup a ingress for the datahub gms. Not sure if there's a issue with the way I set the ingress up.

just do a 
curl -v <http://datahubgms.dev.web.k8s.dts.dev:8080>
from where you are running ingestion and you can start to debug what is going on

@billions-tailor-78534 when I do: curl -v https://datahubgms.dev.web.k8s.dts.dev --cacert dtsca.pem I do get * Connected to datahubgms.dev.web.k8s.dts.dev (10.16.98.101) port 443 I may not be setting the environment variables properly before ingestion then maybe. Thank you so much!
When I don't set an DATAHUB_GMS_PORT, I get an ssl error: datahub.ingestion.run.pipeline.PipelineInitError: Failed to connect to DataHub: HTTPSConnectionPool(host='datahubgms.dev.web.k8s.dts.dev', port=443): Max retries exceeded with url: /config (Caused by SSLError(SSLCertVerificationError(1, '[SSL: CERTIFICATE_VERIFY_FAILED] certificate verify failed: unable to get local issuer certificate (_ssl.c:1091)'))) I am not sure how to provide the certificate when using datahub ingest command. Don't think there is any environment variable to set the certificate it as well.

can be used to point to a CA bundle

REQUESTS_CA_BUNDLE
to point to a ca bundle on my machine like this: export REQUESTS_CA_BUNDLE=/etc/ssl/certs/ca-bundle.crt Still I get the same error.

That works! Thank you so much for the help! Sometimes it doesn't work and so I also set export SSL_CERT_FILE=dtsca.pem
The first question/deleted message: I was trying to ingest through the cli but I wasn't able to connect to the datahub gms pod. I was getting connection to datahub gms error initally
