Is anyone using the schema registry exposed by the metadata service in production? Using Confluent Schema Registry seems like quite an overkill 🫣

It is, that's why the default deployment uses our static internal schema registry instead. It was a requirement pretty much just because the Avro serdes require schema registry to work.
