Hello, DataHub Community! October is my favorite month of the year for three reasons: 1. 🍫 Halloween candy (Reese’s, KitKats, and Almond Joy, don’t @ me) 2. 🙀 Scary movies (El Orfanato, Hereditary, and SAW are some of my favs) 3. 👩‍💼 Hacktoberfest is LIVE (open source community building at its finest) DataHub is participating in Hacktoberfest again this year and we want to bring you plenty of opportunities to strengthen our community while working toward the coveted, free Hacktoberfest t-shirt. Here’s what you can expect this month:Every Monday in October, I will post GitHub Issues in #contribute that we have tagged as great candidates for Hacktoberfest . We’ll be looking for a wide range of issues that will be great for first-time-contributors, seasoned-DataHub pros, and everyone in-between. Before you start hackin’, be sure to sign up for Hacktoberfest to connect your GitHub account.See something you want to tackle? Leave a comment in the GitHub Issue so other folks know you’re workin’ on it. • Want to team up with others? Let us all know in the #contribute channel! • Once you submit a PR, the core DataHub team will move through review as quickly as possible (follow our Contributing guidelines to keep things moving!). Once we tag your PR as
hacktoberfest-accepted
, you’ll be our metadata hero and one step closer to that t-shirt. Last year, we had 150 Slack members and we merged 33 Hacktoberfest PRs. Our community has grown 9X 📈 -- how many PRs will we push through this year?!
