Cypress course for someone with a non-JS backgroun...
# general-chat

I have a colleague who has come from a manual testing background. With a little help, he's up and running with Cypress. We've talked about finding him a course which would help him get further with Cypress - my inital thoughts were a basic JS course, but I think a lot of the material won't be useful for his work. Can anyone recommend a Cypress course for someone with no JS experience?

bahmutov's courses are pretty good, also all the documentation on cypress.io site is pretty much written for non-dev background

Thanks. Do you have a link to bahmutov's course?

Im coming from the same background, and I would highly recommend this free online course from Harvard (only cost money if you want the certificate) https://www.edx.org/course/cs50s-web-programming-with-python-and-javascript Not Cypress specific but will give a great base for understanding FE development.
@gray-kilobyte-89541 love the cypress skills ladder! Thanks for sharing that.

@gray-kilobyte-89541 your video from AllThingsOpen has been published. You mention on this blog post that you would post the video when it's ready (posting here in case others want to watch it): Tips & Tricks for Writing Fast and Maintainable Front-End Tests https://glebbahmutov.com/blog/tips-and-tricks-for-e2e/

To get started with tests easily in Cypress with no little previous coding experience, your team can also try Cypress Studio: https://docs.cypress.io/guides/references/cypress-studio#docusaurus_skipToContent_fallback
To note, Cypress Studio is for simple tests only.
