All of these assets keep being reloaded on each run of my cypress tests

304 means it is cached by the browser, so not a big deal

It is a bit slow, is there a way to speed it up?

is your static asset server returning the right cache headers? the browser should respect caching rules afaik so it might be your server not being generous enough with allowing the browser to cache the requests.
