Agreed. General does work better as a chat, not a forum. Forum is good for help channels etc.

I am open to discuss a shift in the channel, could you provide some pros/cons for the change? The biggest focuses are* functionality* and visibility. In just one week the amount of questions left unanswered/unseen has dropped significantly. How will a open general channel benefit you? 😀

A text-style general channel helps a more natural discourse with a back-and-forth conversation naturally moving into different areas. It's a place for people to chat about anything going on, and hop into other conversations as they like, or go off on a tangent. The forums-style approach is more segmented and isolated, which is great for specific questions or help items with titles and descriptions, but IMHO doesn't fit as well for a general chat room (of which there is now none left available)

I totally agree with this. We have forums for asking questions and stuff like that in the help category and the forum style is best suited for it. But for a general chat where you can discuss anything related or not related to cypress.

Regarding the point of amount of questions left unanswered, I would say if a question comes up into the text-style general channel, the community can point people to making a thread about it in the 'help' section 🙂 - and the help section as it is now should guide people there naturally to do so, following other examples anyway

It might require moving the #1064946933187235880 channel above this one by moving to old style and most of current traffic here is about help.
