I did not create Cypress - Brian Mann did. As far as page objects are concerned - do whatever works for you. You can use little functions, custom commands, etc - just don't keep state in the page objects and not everything needs an abstraction. By the way, out of those 9 things I strongly agree with 8 (and just disagree about number 2 about page objects). Good post!
