in CI, you might want to increase the defaultCommandTimeout from the default 4 to something higher you don't want to make it too high, because then things take too long to fail; 3 retries would take +30 seconds to get a real failure if u set the timeout to 10.... That's why usually you want to just increase the timeout in the problem area also, make sure you're not just waiting for elements to appear, but also for the backend to settle these are features you might not have had in other test frameworks Gleb has a fantastic course about these basics https://github.com/bahmutov/cypress-workshop-basics
