no the only alternative to cypress + lighthouse is what k6 is doing with the browser extension, which uses Playwright My colleague Dmitry is a big fan, but I hate having to maintain another set of UI tests and write lots of new code ... for that reason, for perf tests, I prefer spot checks with cypress + lighthouse , and extensive backend load/perf tests with k6. I confirmed with the k6 team that this is a sound strat. If you got cypress + lighthouse, you don't need k6 browser extension.
