Hi everyone Anyone have great examples of content ideas for a B2B brand focusing on turning raw data into insightful narratives/information for marketers?

@loud-alligator-55278 What kind of raw data?
l
@purple-monitor-35762 Marketing data. An example would be instead of scanning through GA to determine performance of your content, you can receive slack alerts of your data, successes, conversions, page views, and anomalies.

@loud-alligator-55278 Still not clear what your goal here is. To use the content to show how marketers can get better/easier access to the data (assuming this supports a product/solution you have) or to take the marketing data insights you've acquired and make interesting narratives from that data?
l
Hi @some-pencil-30859, the latter. To take the marketing data insights and make interesting narratives from it.

@loud-alligator-55278 It's hard to give much guidance on what would make an interesting narrative without knowing what the data is, but essentially you need to take a look at the data and determine what would be interesting to your target audience. Maybe there are some data points/findings that are really surprising and unexpected or even myth-busting. Or maybe some of the data supports specific hypothesis or storyline you want to tell, etc. Other data you might have might be useful for providing some kind of benchmark report -- maybe marketers can benchmark how they're doing vs. others, etc. I don't know if this will help spark ideas, but here's a report I worked on with one my clients. They took internal call analytics data and turned it into a story about how the pandemic was impacting businesses based on what they were seeing in the call data (i.e., if inbound calls were down, then it shows that businesses weren't getting as many leads, etc.). Here's a link to that report: https://www.callrail.com/learn/call-data-report-2020

Hi @loud-alligator-55278 So I'm not sure of what exactly you mean but I'm guessing you are trying to say that you want to take data insights you have and make content pieces that might engage your audience. Some of the most common practices are to create blogs, short videos, host a webinar with the information, create a resource, etc. I work at Content Beta, a video-design-audio studio and we have created many content pieces like that. I would be happy to point you to some examples for inspiration. 1] We gathered data from more than 100 demo videos from the top B2B SaaS companies around the globe and broke them down in terms of video styles, video length, voice-over types, sound design, video script, types of CTA, etc. You can read it all here: https://www.contentbeta.com/product-demo-analysis-of-top-100-saas-companies/ 2] We analyzed over 50 testimonial videos and researched on the type of footage that is used, camera angles, case study styles, type of B-rolls, visual effects, CTA and much more. You can read it all here: https://www.contentbeta.com/testimonial-video-analysis/ In case you need help and want to opt for a done-for-you solution, I can help! We at Content Beta have helped 80+ B2B software companies create creatives for scaling product marketing content and videos. We are hassle-free, affordable and deliver fast. We even have great subscription models - Fixed monthly costs. No contract. Cancel anytime. Here’s the link: https://www.contentbeta.com/content-studio/

Gong consistently does this well
l
Hi @elegant-engine-93830 for clarity, do you mean Gong?
e
I do but I didn't see the 'for marketers' part of the question 🤔 Haha. They do it well for Sales People.

@loud-alligator-55278 sorry for the delayed reply. As Scott said, I do have a course on creating original research reports, and there are several examples in there. I also just launched a free newsletter about thought leadership … every issue features examples of good thought leadership and data-based content — not every example is for marketers, but IMO it’s better to get a wide variety of examples across industries. I’ll drop both links here in case you’re interested. https://erinbalsa1.gumroad.com/l/ResearchReportPlaybook https://hausofbold.com/newsletter/
