Made the top of Hacker News for content I wrote for a client today. And I don't know anyone who knows what a thrill that is so just going to post it here in case someone gets it. (Essentially, it usually equals thousands of views for your article, back links and social shares. And it's hard)

That's an insane accomplishment. The one time I made it just partway onto a HN's first page, my traffic literally 10x-ed for the next week. Well done!

Thanks David. It's the best! I'm so excited for my clients โ€” a small seed stage startup. At my last company we made it to the top five days in a row but we were launching innovative new features every day. Blogs are much harder but such a good payoff when they do.

congrats! thatโ€™s absolutely an accomplishment to share

Congrats! Did you post on HN yourself?

I didnโ€™t. Donโ€™t know if my client did.

That's awesome! If your audience aligns with HackerNews, it can be suuuuuuch a powerful distribution channel. Can we read the post? Also, interesting that you didn't submit the piece yourself. I've chatted to a bunch of people and they all said, "It's not worth trying to game HackerNews. Let it happen organically."
