Hi there, I'm still having issues with the Composio Platform MCP - https://backend.composio.dev/v3/mcp/... Particularly with the COMPOSIO_MULTI_EXECUTE_TOOL Was working fine yesterday, today I'm getting an error
COMPOSIO_MULTI_EXECUTE_TOOL can only be called inside a tool-router session
, no implementation changes on our behalf.
x-api-key
still valid.

Hey folks, sorry for the trouble here. Before I point you in the right direction, could you share a bit on how you've got these MCP servers wired into your systems currently? Specifically how you're setting them up and calling them in your stack, that'll help me understand your setup and tailor the fix. That said, honestly I'd nudge you towards Tool Router (sessions) as MCP configs are legacy. We still support the regular MCP setup (
backend.composio.dev/v3/mcp/...
), but Tool Router is just better and it's where we're putting our energy these days. It's more optimized and dynamic, way easier on your agent's context (surfaces the right tools instead of dumping everything in), all in a single flow, and we're improving it constantly. Genuinely a nicer experience to work with. The [quickstart](https://docs.composio.dev/docs/quickstart) walks through setting up a session, and your existing auth carries over. Lmk how if you need help with the setup.

Hi Uday, thanks for pointing me towards the right direction. It seems like migrating to tool router sessions should be fairly simple, so I'll give that a go. For reference, here is my previous MCP server setup configuration. Seems like you updated the meta tool requirements post security incident so this is no longer a supported workflow, is that correct?
Copy code
const resp = await fetch(`https://backend.composio.dev/api/v3/mcp/servers/custom`, {
    method: "POST",
    headers: {
      "Content-Type": "application/json",
      "x-api-key": ...,
    },
    body: JSON.stringify({
      name: ...,
      toolkits: [...],
      allowed_tools: ["COMPOSIO_SEARCH_TOOLS", "COMPOSIO_GET_TOOL_SCHEMAS", "COMPOSIO_MULTI_EXECUTE_TOOL", "COMPOSIO_MANAGE_CONNECTIONS"],
      managed_auth_via_composio: true,
    }),
  });
