My mom found a letter she wrote to my brother and in 2009 after we got iPod touches. I was 12.

Writing letters was not a common occurrence in our house, This was a less-than-once-a-year means of really trying to get through to us about something we weren't listening to.

stop what you are doing. we are going to the studio and recording this.

then back to oli: "my mom wrote a letter to set our household straight. it worked really well. here's the difference. back then it was an iPod, now it's an iPhone that connects kids to the internet. (today parents writing these letters or feeling this way can say it all, but when push comes to shove. it's too hard to set up the right policy) so I built clearspace family.

The thing is that this letter actually didn't work at all

It was 100% an ongoing fight that my parents just eventually lost

They didn't have the tools for the job was my real takeaway
