Proposal: Since we have the child name + device selection in-app now (which i designed and brough in for freindlies), we COULD ask in-app again and make the beginning part of application feel more like membership application (and not a full info collection of child names + specific devices) Thoughts @royce @oliver

Ask what in-app? And is this for known friendlies or people that have come through membership application?

We are now asking friendlies to add kids names and devices in iOS, so I'm suggesting we could do it in the second part of application (tell us more about your family) /during iOS onboarding for accepted members as well Coming off note that web membership app felt too engineering requirement coded

I still think the experience of seeing your family already set-up when you get to the app is a enough of a delighter that we should preserve it by gathering that information before-hand
I think other notes will remove enough of the "information-gathery" screens that it will be ok that the children->devices flow be a bit more structured

so collect child names + specific devices per child on application

I also think if it was sequenced after some free-response answers "what are your biggest pain points" or similar it will feel like a totally normal part of an application which is the mindset the user is in

we save those for after the application is submitted to optimize for top of funnel completions

@oliver for the web form could we in theory do like "Phone" / "Tablet" / "Computer" instead of: "iPhone" / "Android Phone" / "iPad" / "Android Tablet" / "Macbook" / "PC"
or do we need to know OS specifically at this stage

When we did plain text onboarding with the agent for the devices how did we handle that?

And if they said phones we'd ask what kind

No prob - just don't want you spinning on things we won't actually be able to implement for tomorrow
I'd say yes wrap now to the extent possible and we can consider design frozen for tomorrow
