The idea of insatiable hunger driving the speaker to eat inedible things is interesting. Reminds me of those TLC documentaries. I wonder how it would read if there were more sensory descriptions of the rocks, or the previous food eaten. Eating is so reliant on all our senses and playing around with that I think could lead to deeper immersion and bring more shock/ fear to the final stanza.
