is this a junior role?

Not particularly. We are really just looking for more boots on the ground so to say, we are open to the candidate learning on the job as long as they show consistent improvement. Are you asking because of the salary range?
m
Yeah, it seemed low, but I am always stoked to see junior roles (less so the onsite but it is what it is). Not enough companies are bringing on new blood, so I am glad it sounds like you might be open to bringing in someone who isn't necessarily an experienced CF dev.
j
Hey @Ryan Albrecht, Are you open to working with an agency on a team augmentation basis?
r
@Jeegar Patil we are not looking for team augmentation but are open to agency placement services.

@Mark Takata (Adobe) Thanks for the feedback. I will report this back up the chain and prehaps bump up the salary range.

This is below market.
After further reading, this is way below market. You want a C2C and only pay 60K. Best of luck with that. C2c should be closer to 70-130 an hour depending on actual requirements, and that "low" average is closer to 140-320 per hour. Here is what you will find at that rate, some c2c who hasn't paid their taxes leaving your company on the hook for the taxes, fines, all the while the developer will be here, cutting and pasting code and trying to poorly skim through stack overflow for help. Just my thoughts, but hey what do I know.

Looking around, it seemed that around $94ish k is average for that area for a mid cf dev. So 60 is def low for mid/experienced. For junior dev coming into the industry or picking up cfml, 60-70 is probably about right, but caveat that with you'll probably want to fast track them w/ a training/cert schedule that sends them upwards towards the median if they hit goals. Else you'll just lose them to someone else. I think if you took a bootcamp grad with strong JS skills, they'd be pushing production level CFML in a month if they were a self starter. I'm all in on having these gateways to the CF world for new devs.

$60k is about £50k gbp, which is an experienced/mid dev salary, roughly, looking around at a few places (I think, at least around here) the salaries across the pond are vastly different to here, although there's more to it than that (rent, healthcare, cost of living etc), it still amazes me how differently people are paid across the globe for the same role

Thanks for the critique everyone. Will take this into account
