I am trying to figure out how to run CF2021 in a Kubernetes environment and am unsure how the licensing and activation works there. Are there any good resources to get help with understanding the actual real world repercussions of this? this page https://helpx.adobe.com/coldfusion/using/coldfusion-licensing-activation.html is slightly helpful and https://www.adobe.com/content/dam/cc/en/legal/licenses-terms/pdf/Adobe_ColdFusion2021-en_US-20201111.pdf, but a) what are virtual core licenses? does it have any relevance to container licensing vs regular servers? b) how does any of this apply to a green/blue deployment process? what about just recreating containers? c) are there any hidden gotchas with container license activation? d) is it still a license for each VM in a k8s env? ex. 3 VMs even if they are just running a container using 1 cores on each VM would still need 3 licenses?

A) if you have a 1 core 1 cpu machine, and you buy a license for 1 cpu core, its that. If you have a 1 cpu 40 core box, then technically a 40 core licenses. If you have 3 Virtual machiens, and each virtual machine has just 1 virtual processor with 1 core, you would need 3 core licenses.

i don't see where you would purchase any licenses in that manner

Adobe ColdFusion (2021 release) is sold in two editions: Standard Edition costs US$2,499 per two cores, and Enterprise Edition costs US$9,499 per eight cores. ColdFusion can also be used for development at no cost with the complimentary Developer Edition, a full-featured server for development use only. You may also purchase ColdFusion Enterprise Edition on a per virtual core metric to deploy ColdFusion on the cloud or VMs. Reach out to adobecoldfusion@adobe.com for more details.. found here: https://helpx.adobe.com/coldfusion/enterprise/faq.html#:~:text=Adobe%20ColdFusion%20(2021%20release)%20is%20sold%20in%20two%20editions%3A,server%20for%20development%20use%20only.
