Hey does anyone use IntelliJ IDEA with the CFML plugin for CFML dev? I've been using VSCode, but we have IntelliJ for our other stuff and one of our devs noticed the plugin for it. Viable alternative to VSCode?

I have no recent experience with it. I played with it for a while maybe 10 years ago. I remember liking it pretty well, but it didn't seem like it was maintained anymore so I moved on.

I haven't used it in like 4 years, but, I remember it was quite good. Some colleagues of mine preferred it over VS Code even

I've used it for years, love it. It's way not perfect, but it's really smart, helps me be efficient.
I only made it a little way into VSCode before I didn't like it as much and bailed. That could be me not having spent enough time w VSC to love it, but methinks not.

OK, to be clear. I'm not asking about IntelliJ vs VSCode. I am asking about - and only - the CFML plugin on IntelliJ. A coupla these answers - which I still appreciate - seem to be comparing the apps not the plugins.

I'm just saying that I like IntelliJ, that's all. I can't really separate my experience w the CFML plugin from the IDEA platform itself, but I'm happy with the whole thing.

I have used it solely now for more than 5 years. Intellisense wise it has all of the tags and attributes. Anything else isn't included as it would be in the official VS code plugin or CFBuilder (RDS, debugging, etc). It's very basic, but it's pretty comparable to the vscode-cfml extension.
