There is some strange thing going on at this URL. If I just click on the link I get this (see screenshot). But when I then click on a channel the #jobs magically disappears and never resurfaces.

I get something similar. If I use this link
<https://cfml.linen.dev/c/fw1/1>
I see FW1 topics, if I then click on something else then it vanishes.

same from the root... https://cfml.linen.dev/ . Clicking on any channel removes #jobs from the channel list

The channel list only shows channels that have 20 recent threads. If you link to a specific channel, it will "force" it to show up in the left-hand navigation. I think it may use cookies to decide which channel you visited last time and therefore to show you that by default next time -- I haven't quite figured that one out.

I'll ask their CEO about the default view. We're currently discussing the value of using positive/negative emoji in Slack to provide an optional "ranked" list of topics in Linen.
(I don't see any cookies being used)
There's a (recently add) default channel selector in the account settings which was unset, so it picked a "random" channel (probably the first one to be sync'd?). I have set it to #cfml-general now.
