I gave a talk about ORMs at a CF conference, years ago -- where the message was basically "do not use ORMs" 🙂

Sean, I'm laughing my butt off. My buddy, who runs a CF shop at UC Davis, was once in an elevator in Vegas with (I think) Ray Camden and another old school CFer, I think it was Ben Forta. My buddy was having issues with his ORM, and asked them if they knew how to solve the issue. Ray's immediate answer was "Well, that's easy. Don't use ORMs!" but Ben Forta actually laughed and after a couple questions they figured out the issue.
