06/12/2025, 7:27 PMWe are planning to move from ACF 2021 to ACF 2023. On our ACF 2021 server we have been using this for Java garbage collection:
-XX:+UseG1GC
Our new 2023 install has this (which I believe is the default):
-XX:+UseParallelGC
We're thinking of changing 2023 to G1GC, but wondered if anyone has any recommendations. Thank you!

06/12/2025, 7:29 PMI would recommend G1GC in most cases. Especially with a larger heap.

06/12/2025, 7:29 PMI actually rarely even tweak my JVM args at this point. java has matured a lot over the years, and IMO, the days of ninja-hacking all your JVM args for GC are mostly over. I haven't had an issue in a long time with Java's default settings.
