Hey @Daniel Mejia and @jgladnick. If you guys are engineers, please read this article about using no-code tools... https://blog.nordcraft.com/they-lied-to-you-building-software-is-really-hard Hope it helps

Has anyone looked into their web app tooling?

My wife's smallish company is currently 2 years into a "simple 3 month build" to convert over to HubSpot, a low/no code platform. Part of their issues were using a poor contractor who severely misunderstood the scope of work they needed, but it's been nothing but frustration having to work within the confines of drag-and-drop workflows and the limitations of the systems and their APIs they support. Large chunks of their system has ended up shoe-horned into big globs of Node JS code that lives hidden within their workflow without any sort of source control or standard development process, and still requires a Node dev to understand. They're well past the point where the amount of money and time they've spent could have bought them a bespoke system that did exactly what they needed.

To be clear though, that trajectory isn't unique to low code. I was let go from a project at a major local hospital when the original director of the department retired and was replaced. Last I heard, they were 3 years into a "quick rewrite" in java, for Reasons, not done. New director and senior tech are gone now too.

Building good software that stands the test of time is hard and does not come cheap. Caveat emptor As you have seen, folks will experience that hard truth.

Vibe coding is fun, but maybe only because Im still curious about what AI can produce. Autocomplete these days is pretty awesome. 4 out of 5 times it knows what I what. I also think it does a nice job of planning and with some detailed constraints, detailed requirements its not that bad. I've used Cursor for 2 months now and I still haven't used 3 features of Cursor that should make coding with AI more helpful. And those are project rules, notepads, and MCPs. All this is is just level 1000 autocomplete. And still not as fast as Brad. lol.

Brad has been secretly powered by his own AI running on CommandBox and a Raspberry Pi hidden away in his hat. Inspector Gadget style.
