Is it possible to switch completely from ColdFusion to Lucee? If so, how can we do it? Will Lucee's support continue in the future?

so you've already been paying adobe for licenses, how about sponsoring lucee, if your business is going to depend on it? https://opencollective.com/lucee

Here is our introduction to the first step for migration https://docs.lucee.org/guides/updating-lucee/migrate-from-acf.html

@cenril really depends what your app is using that is acf specific, for most things, I would say the switch is pretty painless. switching from lucee to acf may be a little more difficult if you've embraced some of the goodness lucee has added. It really isn't that that hard to write something compatible with both.

My 2 cents, Lucee is open, CF is not, as soon as Adobe drop CF and stop updating bundled libs I'd rather be on a platform that might continue to get some kind of community support, but maybe if Adobe drop it they'll give it to Apache ? Adobe are hanging onto CF because it's a cash cow for them, and as soon as it's not, they'll drop it. They're really not interested in building the community anymore. My own thoughts.

FWIW Fixinator (commercial product) can scan your code for lucee compatibility as well: https://www.petefreitag.com/blog/coldfusion-compatibility-scan/ how easy / hard it will be really depends on what features you use.
