Important News for Adobe CF Users - Last Call For a CF Perpetual License Hey everyone, I wanted to share a quick heads-up that might be relevant to many of you. As many people know already, Adobe is transitioning ColdFusion to a subscription-based licensing model, this will become effective with the release of CF2025 (which is currently in Beta - hence, coming soon). This means this is the last opportunity to purchase a perpetual license before the change takes effect. If you or your company rely on ColdFusion and prefer a one-time purchase over an annual subscription, you can still get a *CF 2023 perpetual license until the end of this month*β€”and if you're upgrading from an older version, we're offering a 25% discount on the full price. Note that CF2023 will remain in core support until May 2028 - so this does give some peace of mind incase they need to make any security patches. You can find out more details of this offer here https://fusion-reactor.com/blog/evangelism/save-25-on-adobe-cf2023-upgrades/ I know this isn't a typical discussion topic, but given how many of us work with ACF, I thought it was worth sharing before the window closes. If you have any questions, please feel free to post via the form on our site.

Offer is only available if you're on CF2018 or earlier, right? We get punished for being more up to date (by Adobe, not Intergral)?

"Upgrade to ColdFusion 23 if you have CF9, 10, 11, CF2016 or CF2018 and get the following deal" If you are on 2021 ... 😭

I can't think of anything worse than a closed source platform with a bunch of people holding out on updates because of pricing. Also means no security updates right ? Is it time to reconsider Lucee, curious if there is something stopping you ?
b
Yes, thanks for posting the offer davidtat. Makes sense to let the word out. Since Adobe has not released CF2025, we really don't know what their new pricing will be for sure. Personally, I think a subscription model is probably a good idea for Adobe, there are many conveniences. From then on, you won't be purchasing Adobe ColdFusion, only renting it. A monthly fee is really just an ongoing support agreement. A fee many businesses have been willing to pay anyway. Although I love Lucee, you cannot purchase a support agreement.
g
don't Rasia and other companies offer support contracts for Lucee ? https://www.rasia.ch/#pricing
b
Hey Gareth, yes you got me on a technicality. And thanks for pointing out how expensive Rasia is. At those prices, it makes ACF Enterprise with Platinum support and BoxLang ++ seem like bargains.
g
it really depends on the scale and size of your ACF contract..
and boxlang++ $3999 is per production instance...
don't get me wrong though, I'm aware of the benefits in sticking with ACF, I was just suggesting people looking to get in before Perpetual Licenses end might be better looking elsewhere than purchasing 2018 this late in the day

@Dave Merrill If you have CF2021 then it's 50% off - here you're entitled to a one version back upgrade πŸ™‚
@Jim Priest Same for you - CF2023 one version back upgrade costs $1,249.00 for STD and $4,747.00 for Enterprise

@Gareth @Bill Nourse You can't buy CF2018 anymore - the only downgrade option available would be CF2021, with a downgrade from CF2023. Purchasing CF2023 now at least gives you some peace of mind until 2028 - incase you don't want the annual subscription. Which BTW we still don't know what the price will be.
