i've been using ray camden's old CFLib stuff forever. when upgrading to lucee 6, i'm getting a lot of errors regarding my DataManipulationLib.cfc conflicting with BIFs. what's changed? did lucee 6 adopt a bunch of these as BIFs or is there some new setting that disallows UDFs with BIF function names?

BIFs have always taken precedence over UDFs of the same name. I'm not sure what specific UDFs you're having issue with, but if you search the ticket tracker, you may be able to find when and why they were added. The "fix" is usually to prefix your access to the UDF as

variables.myUDF()

so Lucee won't think it's a BIF.
