It's really the same as any other JAVA app. Download the WAR file from the lucee site, add your CFML files, re-package the WAR then throw it in the webapps folder of your servelet.

First I went into 'install jar, configure web.xml' rabbit hole - it did not work. Deploying war gave same result at first try. Instead of Tomcat's hello screen - now 404 page 🙂 will recreated clean environment and try again.

Make sure you configure the web.conf to be the default context (/). Or, the webapp will, by default, deploy in a seprate context (a directory off your webroot).

The deployment directions for a WAR file shouldn't have changed since Railo/Lucee.

Still playing around with it, cannot find the way to deploy WAR or JAR, probably this cloud provider has their PaaS offering with Tomcat pre-configured the way I cannot figure out myself. and it's not immediately compatible with Lucee. There's no shortage of cloud providers, I will probably just go with Digital Ocean and their plain Linux droplets, there's more freedom.

A default install of Tomcat will have you just drop the .WAR file into the %tomcat_install%\webapps directory. There is also the http://server/host-manager application that allows you to upload and deploy as well (if you have a login/password setup to it)

yep, absense of Manager app was a red flag that I ignored 🙂 something is not right, war file was not unwar-ed too 🙂 that's how cloud provider configured it, no option to change, but I rather will go with plain Linux
