Hello All! I am new to Mac before it use the Windows and CF 2018. Now when I try to install the CF 2018 on Mac I get the lot of issues. From I download the CF 2018: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1f47UiqopBgrj461ciOu_N8zyPTPiHmgV I download the .dmg file. When I try to open this file, it said it is un-know publisher then I follow the first answer of this blog https://community.adobe.com/t5/coldfusion-discussions/can-t-install-coldfusion-2021-on-macos-big-sur-11-5-1/td-p/12227194 After that when I click .dml file it mount installer file in my desktop and I install the CF in my applications folder on the mac (users/waleed/applications/coldfusion 2018) When the setup end it said run the command ./coldfusion start to make it working. I did but after the 127.0.0.1:8500/CFIDE/Administrator it ask for login, I give credentials but after that I get the error. All related logs and screen shot are attached. Please help in this regard to make CF 2018 running on my Mac Book Air M1 chip @carehart I am sure you will get me out of this deadlock. 🙂 I am not sure why at the last step of installation the checkbox is disabled for configuring the proejct and why we need to do the manually ./coldfusion start. thank you!

Hi @waleedehsan1 This thread would be a great place for all those files 🙂
Also, unless Charlie is already helping you, please don't ping random people in Slack. Charlie makes his living by offering paid tech support and if you want to call him out and insist he help you, I highly recommend you do it via signing up for his consulting services 🙂

OK I will not mentioned but I need free service means help 🙂

first, thanks to @bdw429s for his thoughts. Second, @waleedehsan1, cf2018 doesn't support m1, as far as I know. Cf2021 does, and that with the Sept 2021 installer, which may not be at the cfml repo site. Also, you refer to a last step not allowing setup of a project. Cf has no notion of that. Are you talking about cf builder instead? And as Brad noted, not only do I help people on a consulting basis (and free in the community when I can), but often that has me busy all day, unable to respond in a timely manner here.

I can attest to the fact that Charlie does a great job at support. I would recommend that you contact him directly and schedule a time. Believe me, it is well worth the time and expense. In my case, the cost was minimal to the amount of time I would have wasted without his help. When you are on a schedule, cost becomes secondary to the getting the job done. Charlie is really good at this kind of thing and comes with a wealth of knowledge not always easily found.

Thanks so much, Drew. I really enjoy solving people's problems, and do it daily. If I'm not helpful, folks don't have to pay. More at carehart.org/consulting.

Have you looked at Commandbox and/or Docker instead of installing natively? Not sure if those work now on the M1 - I haven't used a Mac in awhile.
b
Yes, I know CommandBox/Lucee works fine on an M1. I haven't seen anyone try Adobe on it, but usually it's the installers that give issues since they are native binaries.

@carehart ACF 2018 or 2021. Both not works. I am not asking anything about Builder
c
OK. If you read what I wrote above, I asked if you may have meant something "about Builder" because you'd said earlier, "_I am not sure why at the last step of installation the checkbox is disabled for configuring the proejct_". So what "project" do you mean? And again, CF2021 does run on M1. But what version of Mac are you running? Adobe added support for BIg Sur with Update 2 of CF2021 last September. And you'd want to use the new installers released then. If you're trying that and having trouble, there are additional steps that may help. See this the discussion about all this in a thread from earlier this year, starting at https://community.adobe.com/t5/coldfusion-discussions/can-t-install-coldfusion-2021-on-macos-big-sur-11-5-1/m-p/12871487#M192164 As for CF2018, update 12 (also from Sept) did add support for Big Sur, but there was no refreshed installer it seems, which may preclude it running on m1. To be clear, I do have cf2021 running on am m1 mac running Big Sur. As for Monterey, you will see in that thread I linked to above that someone said there they DID get CF2021 running on Monterey.

“_I am not sure why at the last step of installation the checkbox is disabled for configuring the proejct_”.
I pasted some screen shots when I post here, but they are not here might be admin have removed those or I am unable to access them due to any reason. Anyways I was talking about ….. The very last step in the ACF install anywhere, we have checkbox that said configure ACF blah blah and on that screen we have the url as well. like 127.0.0.1:8500/CFIDE/Administrator/
That’s the checkbox I was referring.
And again, CF2021 does run on M1. But what version of Mac are you running? Adobe added support for BIg Sur with Update 2 of CF2021 last September. And you’d want to use the new installers released then.
I try CF2021 from this url but fail. Now I am not sure where to find that url about yo mentioned several times, can you please give me the url of that september release, I can just download and install
Apart from above I download the CF for mac on the link https://www.adobe.com/products/coldfusion/download-trial/try.html after filling the form not download directly. Then do the _xattr -rc <ColdFusion2021_xxxx.dm_g Installed and reach the final steps I mentioned the checkbox is disabled (have look image attached) Then do the command in /Applications/ColdFusion/cfusion/bin/ sudo /.coldfusion start Then try to reach the CF admin, logged in and get the error Image is attached. When I go to see the logs at coldfusion-output.log that image is attached as well.
now I am thinking either I am not having the right dmg file from adobe that have september release either I have to use the same ACF I installed today but find a way if I can create a datasource without administrator UI.
