Why does Adobe try to re-invent the wheel with adding charting/graphing? There are so many mature libs already in JS/Java etc.. that do this already. How about they finally step into the modern era and make user functions first class citizens finally. I did not hear anything about Java 21+ and virtual threads etc..

Um, Charting has been in ColdFusion for a very long time. Many of our users prefer to have 1st party supported internal functions for doing things like charting, spreadsheets, etc. Nothing prevents you from using external libraries. Did you go to the Stability/Security talk? We talked about Java 21 and virtual threads there.

Missed the talk on Java 21 but sounds encouraging. How about making user defined functions 1st class citizens, some clever hooks into data records and observables? As for charting, I know that has always been a thing and thankfully we have package manager to turn it off ;)

To be fair, you should make charting usable and good if you offer it and I will say the HTMLtoPDF updates are really really good!

I love the idea to make UDFs 1st class citizens, I think that would be a fantastic and powerful addition. If you have some detailed ideas on that, would you mind adding an enhancement request at https://tracker.adobe.com for ColdFusion? That's where we pull information for all of our ERs (and bugs also). Thank you!
