For us, it's a huge win because we were stuck on Lucee 4.5.2 due to Lucee 5 moving to OSGi which was incompatible with the core of our app (relying on specific Java interop). That in turn kept us on JDK 8 because Lucee 4.5.2 wouldn't run on more modern JDKs 😞 But JDK 8 is a security risk at this point, and having everything else running on JDK 21 already made the CFML an "odd duck" from an operations p.o.v.

I'll also point out that the Ortus folks have posted about BoxLang several times in #cfml-general already so I guess you didn't see previous posts?

I’ve seen the other posts…beta 1, beta 2…etc. I get it. Per the channel description…it recommends engine specific channels if folks want to explore those. I just tune into cfml-general to share and discuss coding related posts. I moderate my slack usage and don’t want to be advertised to. I’m well aware of the box channel and what they do.

The most I’ve heard about boxlang is that it runs python. Lol. Better post -“Hi, this is so-and-so from Ortus and there’s a new Boxlang update which includes these enhancements for CFML…<insert relevant updates>. Let us know if you’ve had any experiences or recommendations. It’s easy because…<Sean says so and more relevant updates>. If you have questions, post a reply and we’ll be happy to help!
