Hi everyone, I've recently started working with GraphQL and set up a GraphQL server using Node.js. While this setup works fine and allows me to access data from ColdFusion as I am using cf2023 Graphql features, I am curious to know if there's a way to run a GraphQL server natively within ColdFusion. Has anyone managed to set up a GraphQL server directly in ColdFusion? If so, could you share your experience or any resources that might help with this? Thanks in advance for your help!

GraphQL is a language, not an engine. The most commonly used "app" engine for the graph is https://hasura.io/opensource/. You will find that you can easily use java to call graph objects

Thanks for your info @Evil Ware, will try that

I did some experiments with some Java libraries for GraphQL in CFML. While I was able to get a Hello, World example running, I abandoned it as the complexity it adds to the server side is immense and more work than the benefits it provided the front-end, in my opinion.

Thank you for sharing your experience @elpete. It's understandable that the complexity added to the server side might outweigh the benefits for the front-end.

@elpete Agreed!! GraphQL looks neat, but in the end coldfusion is faster in many respects than trying to backwards port it.
