Hi All I'm looking for a way to send an email that displays a booking confirmation similar to that shown in the screenshot below. Seems the new industry normal email used by companies like Gmail, Hotmail, Amazon, Bonvoy, United and so on ... They all seem to sends confirmation emails in this new format. For example when receiving an email confirmation from UNITED regarding a flight, The header includes Take off, landing, arrival date, departure ... and so on. BUT the Header is not in the usual place ... it's ABOVE the subject ... ALSO, the email dynamically changes I noticed! when I go back to view the United email for example, it has gone from Take off: 10 April to Tomorrow ... so it's gone dynamic. HOW IS THIS DONE ?? Hope someone can assist with this as a client is asking for this functionality! Much obloiged 🙏

I thought this was just done via gmail reading any iCal/ics attachment?

@neokoenig so how is this implemented when we do a cfmail > I don't quite understand. Is it something that can be done inside of ColdFusion by including an .ics attachment within the cfmail ?
@neokoenig is this the sort of thing I need to implement? https://www.raymondcamden.com/2005/05/25/1440120D-BB86-1942-5989FBEBB2FAC008

Some of those Gmail things are done automatically by gmail - they scan the email and look for stuff to pull out like flights; I don't think you can make it do that, but the ICS attachment should get read, which will at least allow for people to add stuff to their calendar iCS is just a plain text file with a ics extension with data in it. https://cflib.org/udf/iCalUS <--- try that.

thanks @neokoenig 🙏

To be clear, it won't give you the display I think you're after: I think that's a gmail "feature".

To add on to this -- when email volume from automated systems (like flight reservations, hotel bookings, etc) get to a certain level, Google will inspect the email to see if they can pull any data out of it. When they see enough folks getting similar emails, they will pull out that data and give the user that form. There isn't anything you can do to push data to a similar form. This is completely a Google/Gmail thing. Microsoft with O365 does something similar, but at a much smaller scale.

When Delta or the major airlines change their confirmation forms even slightly, that form won't show up for a few days or weeks until they catch it.
