Feel like it is also a good time to point out the site: https://cfscript.me/ since many are not aware of it. It doesn’t always provide the optimal conversion, but generally what it provides will work

It's def a good start, but... it's a bit "deliberate" in its transliteration at times, and does not generate production-ready code (for the 2020s).
Falls back too much on using the service CFCs, and the direct tags-without-
<CF*>
-syntax, rather than how one ought to write the code.
It's a good trainer though.

(that comment is not aimed at @foundeo, it's aimed at devs using it. Treat it like copying code from Stack Overflow, not "what you should actually use")

Or like Co-Pilot I guess, to be more "2024"

yeah, no worries - I agree with you Adam, I certainly hope people are not just deploying its results straight to production. As the author of the tool, I can say it doesn’t output in the same style I would write the code from scratch. For many tasks it will do things in the most generic of ways, it’s not a super complicated tool. It works best as a starting point, then you go through and rewrite certain bits to make more sense

It's nice to generate a first pass when "I need to refactor this tag-based code into a script CFC".
I have used it for that ;-)

yeah, saves a ton of typing for that kind of thing

I didn't know that existed, but it is pretty awesome
