Is there any way to tell from CF admin 2018 or 2021 what Server Profile was used during installation? I know the profile chosen defaults a bunch of settings, but many of them can be changed after the fact, and I'd like to know what was done on a server I didn't set up. I don't see the words Development, Production, or Secure on the Settings Summary page.

not from cf administrator I don't think, but you can see this in the installvariables.properties file under the {cfserverroot}/cfusion/bin/installvariables.properties
d
Hmmm, the only installvariables files I find are in various uninstall directories, top level, jetty, and hotfixes. and the closest to that sort of property I see in the top level one are these: CHOSEN_INSTALL_BUNDLE_LIST_LONG=ColdFusion Standalone CHOSEN_INSTALL_FEATURE_LIST=ColdFusion CHOSEN_INSTALL_FEATURE_LIST_LONG=ColdFusion Standalone ADMIN_INSTALL_TYPE=standalone INSTALLER_TYPE=0 CHOSEN_INSTALL_BUNDLE_LIST=ColdFusion Anyone know if any of those represent the chosen Server Profile?
s
hmm.... on all of mine there is a "DEPLOYMENT_TYPE" line
like DEPLOYMENT_TYPE=Production
or DEPLOYMENT_TYPE=Developer
are you using the installer, or are you installing some other way like using command box or something
I don't have any "standalone" instances to check but that may be it
d
Is that from the top level uninstall dir? Also this is 2018, which I'm building out a 2021 server to replace, trying to figure out what they did "originally". Anyone have a 2018 server to look at?
s
I don't see it in my 2018 server
just 2021 and 2023
d
And by the way @Scott Bennett, thank you for kibitzing 🙂
Neat.
s
on my 2018 server there is a line in the install log in the cfroot dir

ColdFusion Server Profile: Production Profile

mine is named Adobe_ColdFusion_2018_Install_04_14_2019_02_42_49.log so it looks like the name is timestamped
and I had to look up the word "kibitzing" 😛 Hopefully you meant it in a positive way... wasn't trying to offer any unwanted advice
d
hah, sorry, totally positive. people offering advice or muttering along while others play a game are kibitzers :)

well the internet defined it in a less flattering way: https://www.thefreedictionary.com/kibitzing

Bingo on the install log idea.
ColdFusion Server Profile:
Production Profile + Secure Profile
Kinda duh on a good place to look, my bad, and also what I thought anyway.
