So I'm not able to access CF Administrator outside of on the server directly, I'm most certain its the Windows Firewall blocking the connection. Does anyone know what firewall rules need to be setup to allow both CF Admin and Performance Monitoring?
s
By default cf administrator runs on port 8500, and I personally would recommend leaving it blocked
Or at least ip restricted
p
Yep, we restrict it to specific (internal) IP's (and it's not the default port).
s
When you view the cf admin on the server, is there a port number in the url?
p
Yep, it's not 8500. 😉
s
Ok, then that’s the port you need to adjust in your firewall. In the cf adminstrator there is a screen that will show you the performance monitor port, Im on mobile so I can’t really look it up now
p
That's also non-default, but I know that too. So you're suggesting just going with a general port rule? Not locking it down to
*.exe
too?
s
Up to you and your security preferences
I usually just leave it all blocked and Remote Desktop in
But sometimes open the ports to specific IPs
p
Yeah, I got it working now with everything (ports, internal/remote IPs, protocol [TCP], network types) locked down except program. Would be nice to specify what program is running each too (CF Admin tomcat server, and Performance Monitor Toolset).
