I've a couple of questions: 1) web.webroot configuration: I was not able (may be it's my fault) to find in the CommandBox documentation, details about web.webroot, and if for my use case this configuration is still needed.

It's possible using wsconfig, instead of using the BonCode connectorNo, wsconfig is a proprietary Adobe AJP implementation which cannot be used as a generic connector.
