Is there any way to control the retry intervals for when an outbound mail cannot reach the SMTP server to send the message? We had an issue yesterday where one of our web servers was having connection issues to our outbound mail server for several hours. What appears to have happened is that Lucee kept retrying to connect to the server, but eventually slowed down the frequency of the retries. We ended up having a number of messages end up going out today. I know with most mail servers, when the SMTP server cannot reach the destination, it will slow throttle down the frequency in which it tries to connect. I think that might have been what happened here. Lucee eventually decided to stop connecting every few minutes and just waited 24 hours. I don't see anything in the admin that would appear to be related to this.

Do you know what the rules are offhand?
It definitely would be nice to configure this. Maybe I'll tackle implementing that change.

Thanks for the amazingly quick response!
Just out of curiousity, is there any way to force re-delivery tries? Like if we monitored a folder and try to move messages or any Lucee APIs we could use? Just wondering there's not something I could do now to try to prevent a 24 hour retry interval.

if you can do it in the admin, you can do it.... see tasks
