Time to fire up this community slack 🙂 there have been a lot of changes recently! 1. Bytewax pivoted from a serverless ML platform to a stream processing framework 2. Bytewax is now open source - https://github.com/bytewax/bytewax 3. We launched a blog and there is an official “Announcing Bytewax” post - https://www.bytewax.io/blog/bytewax/ 4. We are on twitter and LinkedIn. We are really thankful for everyone who has helped us along our journey so far! Any repo stars, twitter follows and retweets would be extremely appreciated. 🙏 ❤️

There have been a number of questions around how and where to deploy dataflows. We wanted to do something different from the norm of making users learn an additional infrastructure framework so we built waxctl to leverage Kubernetes to do this. You can run dataflows easily on your existing k8s infrastructure or any cloud k8s service. Thanks @wooden-hairdresser-8570 for all the awesome work here! https://bytewax.io/blog/execution-in-k8s/ Check it out! We would also love your feedback on where else you’d like to be able to run Bytewax. Let us know.

Hi! In our GCP logs bytewax containers are named “process”. Can’t find any options to change this in the helm chart. Is it possible to change this?

hi! you're right, our helm chart doesn't have a dynamic container name, so there isn't a value that you can specify to change that. I think you could modify the chart template of the statefulset. For that, you need to fetch the helm chart locally and after the template modification you need to upload it to someplace accessible to your CI/CD (I remember that you use GitHub actions to deploy)

Result of asking Chat GPT to write a Bytewax dataflow 😮:
A bytewax dataflow is a visual representation of the flow of data through a system. It typically consists of a series of interconnected nodes, where each node represents a step in the process. Data enters the system through an input node, flows through the various processing nodes, and is ultimately output through an output node.

Here is an example of a simple bytewax dataflow:

The input node receives raw data from an external source.
The data is cleaned and transformed in the "clean and transform" node.
The transformed data is fed into a machine learning model in the "train model" node.
The trained model is used to make predictions in the "predict" node.
The predictions are output through the output node.

This is just one example of a bytewax dataflow, and the specific steps and nodes will vary depending on the specific application. However, the general idea is the same: data flows through the system, undergoing various transformations and processing steps, until it is ultimately output in a usable form.
