BAML | Agent Harness | Not coding ;)
# help

Hi, I am building a system that allows users to navigate a Graphdatabase and financial records, with the goal to write reports, request missing data, or explore the data. Eventually with the goal to use a2ui or something similar to dynamically create visuals. Which means I will create my own CLI to expose all the functions. And of course will use BAML, currently canary version, to drive the CLI. Is there a guide, read up resource, on best practices or better yet don't s for writing custom harnesses for custom tools? Especially as it is non coding. And yes I read the Claude code leak and the cool tools that visualize how they work etc. But was wondering if I am missing something.

ah! custom tools are still on the works in canary!
if they are dynamic tools generated on the fly, you will likely want our
eval
feature. in terms of custom harnesses, @aaronv (BAML) is currently working on designing our approach to that!

great thanks, it is still like two month or so out, until I really "need" to build it, but I wanted to start playing around with it. as for tools, right now I will not generate them on the fly, but the eval feature is something I def want anyway. I will probably build out a cli for the llm to use via baml
