🟡 Issue with Zed language server extension setup
# questions
j
Hi Team! I'm struggling to get the Zed language server extension set up. I've tried uninstalling, restarting, reinstalling. Still get the same error:
Language server baml-language-server:

from extension "Baml" version 0.223.0: no asset found matching "baml-cli-baml-language-0.12.2-nightly.20260625.d-aarch64-apple-darwin.tar.gz"
Has someone had a similar issue? I think it's not downloading the language server when it should, but I don't know how to trigger it.
v
hi!
i thikn you're using the new version of baml that's still in beta!
that one still is not yet zed compatible!
to use the stable version of BAML + Zed
you need to just use the Zed marketplace and search for BAML
v
oh i meant:
Language server baml-language-server:

from extension "Baml" version 0.223.0: no asset found matching "baml-cli-baml-language-0.12.2-nightly.20260625.d-aarch64-apple-darwin.tar.gz"
can you run
where baml
i think you may have multiple baml installs
the 0.223.0 is stable!
v
can you do:
baml-cli ---version
and also do the same for
baml
as well, not just
baml-cli
oh interesting
you didn't have baml
let me try a clean install myself!
j
yeah, I'm just using
baml-cli
after following https://docs.boundaryml.com/guide/installation-language/go
v
oh interesting, i'm running into the same issue!

i wonder if we had a regression in our zed release
I'll likely take a look in the am if you're able to get by with cli usage for now / alternate IDE? (its 1:15 am 😅 )
j
