BAML extension - Language server not starting
# help
a
If you reload the window does it work?
Is this in a new project?
g
New project and reloading doesn't work
a
Does downgrading the extension make it work?
g
Basically trying this on a brand new laptop with brand new WSL Ubuntu and VSCode install
Downgrading didn't work either
a
Oh interesting it just doesnt work at all. Ok we will have to see. If there is a version that does work on your machine lmk
g
None so far
a
Try creating a baml_src with a baml file
And reopen that
But otherwise we will have to see whats up
g
you mean baml-cli init?
a
Yeah
g
That's done too
a
To get around you can test using baml-cli test
Sorry about that, very odd
g
baml-cli test tells me that the API key isn't setup
a
Your terminal needs to have it setup
Tried a restart, didn't fix the language server
Added the env variable and passed the test case
a
Ok we will investigate wsl for next release
g
I definitely know it used to work a month ago
Heck, I know it worked 2 weeks ago
Not sure what's different here
a
I think it might be an easy fix
g
Do we have more detailed logs for the server?
a
Ill seeif i find a patch today or tomorrow
g
Think I found the fix
When setting up VSCode, you need to make sure you're actually remote into WSL
You can install VSCode and
code .
from Ubuntu and it still won't remote in properly
It loads the directory but doesn't show up as a full remote session
it was just the >< for previous attempts
Basically forced the remote connection through Ctrl+Shift+P
a
oh interesting
