๐ŸŸก Issues with BAML Playground requests using Lite...

Iโ€™m using LiteLLM as a router with BAML, but the BAML Playground wonโ€™t send requests. It fails with: โ€œUnspecified error code: 2 error sending requests. If you haven't yet, try enabling the proxy.โ€ I enabled the proxy, and both curl and a Python script calling the same function work fine. Iโ€™ve set the LiteLLM key in both the Playground UI and my environment variables. Why would requests succeed via curl/Python but fail only in the Playground, and what should I check to fix it?

I also encountered the same problem

are you using a remote desktop environment?
also if possible could you share what your client defintion looks like! I'll give it a shot myself
v
Yes, I am using Windows VS Code locally and developing via Remote SSH to an Ubuntu system
v
ah! remote ssh doesnt work for the playground yet ๐Ÿ™ cause the proxy points to localhost:XXXX, which is likely not working
the reason without the proxy doesn't work is because litellm likely enables CORS in its servers
v
Can BAML Playground support URLs that are IP addresses? Because even in a remote SSH environment, when I previously accessed Gemini or DeepSeek, I didn't need to enable a proxy, and the tests ran successfully https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1453013147999932470/1453035319741124781/image.png?ex=694bfc18&is=694aaa98&hm=63221c78cb3aa73abbdd741f83917da105d0ed38c51ffd31bab280231050d373&
v
yep! those should work when proxy is disabled (as long as there's no CORS restrictions)
the proxy is really only for CORS reasons
v
an easy way to confirm is to open the developer console in vscode and look at the network tab!
It does appear to be a CORS issue
v
yep! the server you're pinging has CORS enabled, likely you nseed to check how to disable CORS for it!
(our proxy solves that issue, but in SSH environments we cant ๐Ÿ™ )
v
Okay, no problem, as long as I know the reason. I'll have the team use their local machines for testing๐Ÿ‘
