Subject Access Request - Conversation Transcript ...

We have received a Subject Access Request (SAR) under data protection legislation and need to retrieve historical conversation transcript data for a specific individual. We are attempting to do this outside the bot using the Botpress REST API (https://api.botpress.cloud/v1/chat/conversations). Specifically: How do we filter conversations by a specific date (e.g. 12 December 2025) using the REST API? The afterDate and beforeDate query parameters do not appear to work. How do we identify which conversation belongs to a specific user given only their email address? User objects returned from /v1/chat/users do not include an email field. Once we have the conversation ID, how do we retrieve the full message transcript including message content, sender role (user vs bot), and timestamps via the REST API? Please provide working REST API endpoint examples with correct query parameter names or advise any other means? Thanks, Rene

The listConversations endpoint supports the afterDate and beforeDate query parameters (ISO 8601 UTC). They filter by the conversation’s creation time. The /v1/chat/users endpoint does not expose an e‑mail field. To locate a conversation for a given e‑mail you must: - Map the e‑mail to the Botpress user ID in your own system (e.g., store the Botpress userId together with the e‑mail in a database). - Use that userId to filter conversations via the participantIds query parameter on listConversations. bash Retrieving the full message transcript for a conversation Use the listMessages endpoint, which returns each message with its payload, sender (userId), direction (incoming / outgoing), and timestamps.
