Hey everyone, I’m an AI developer based in India, and I’m about to close a German real estate enterprise client for a Botpress RAG bot (€1.5k setup + €800/mo retainer). I need advice on the best way to structure the Botpress account ownership to protect my business from GDPR liability. I’m torn between two onboarding models: Option A: "The Agency Model" (My Account) I create a Workspace for them under my master Botpress account. Pros: Zero friction for the client. I control the billing. Cons: I legally become the "Data Processor" under GDPR because I own the root account. Also, if they demand "Admin" access, they could theoretically lock me out of the workspace. Option B: "The Consultant Model" (Their Account) The client creates the Botpress account under their German business entity, pays the $89/mo directly to Botpress, and invites me as an Admin/Lead Developer. I just charge them the €800/mo for my "maintenance and engineering" retainer. Pros: 100% GDPR safe for me. The data stays in their legal jurisdiction. Cons: Adds friction to the sale (making the CEO create an account and add a credit card). For those of you selling to European B2B clients, what is the industry standard here? Do you host the bot, or do you make the client host it to avoid data privacy nightmares? Appreciate any insights!
