Hey Guys! I’m facing a significant issue with Botpress. Whenever I use the Botpress bot in WhatsApp, users tend to send multiple messages consecutively. However, the bot responds to each individual message instead of consolidating them. Is there a solution to this problem? I would greatly appreciate it if you could provide a fix.

Yes this can be fixed. The bot is currently processing every incoming message separately. I can help you implement a message buffer or session handler in Botpress that consolidates consecutive user messages before triggering a response, so the bot replies once to the full input instead of to each message.

Can you share a screenshot example?

i think he's talking about the same old problem where people send a message before they get an answer
that was recently solved by the webchat lock feature
but unfortunately still exists on other platforms
l
Yeah on webchat it's fixed
I believe you created something for this no @wide-umbrella-5226 or maybe it was Zannax
Let me go check

i have a custom solution in n8n but i think 000bo made it

the whatsapp solution has a few built-in functions that could help lowering the amount of times this happens
namely the emoji reaction when the bot's thinking
or the "Typing..." indicator

Sure, @loud-crowd-60573 . If you look at this, there are two replies for two different texts. Normally, people on these platforms tend to break down their sentences into multiple messages in a row. The bot tends to reply to each one. I recently used GHL, and they have a conversation AI that waits for 10 seconds (defined by the developer) for the user to complete what they want to convey. Then, it consolidates all their messages( in the row) and replies. Is there a fix? That would be so helpful. I think there needs to be a built in feature for this. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1462779655873368203/1463070703782854800/image.png?ex=69707e46&is=696f2cc6&hm=6719f043325c113946b007fedb22a0f63278ad6bf5d76c1e76cab7ec5602d2b7&

there's the workaround linked by ross
i use a similar solution that waits for the last user message to be older than 10 seconds then aggregates all of them
but unfortunately no built-in solution

@wide-umbrella-5226 Oh I see. Thanks, I will try it out today.
