Looking for a tutorial: React Native integration v...

Hi everyone! 👋 I'm building a mobile app (React Native / Expo) and I want to integrate my Botpress bot into a specific "Chat" tab. I explicitly do not want to use the standard Webchat/Webview integration because I need a fully native look and feel that matches my app's design. I want to build my own chat interface (bubbles, input) and connect it to Botpress. Does anyone have a tutorial, a guide, or a GitHub example showing how to connect a React Native app to the Botpress Client/Conversation API directly? Thanks in advance! 🚀
w
you can just use the [messaging API](https://botpress.com/integrations/messaging)
you get a webhook to send your app's messages to, and place the webhook where your app will receive the generated botpress responses
a
does this integration allows me to fully customize my app tab ?
w
no this integration will easily manage the receiving and sending messages portion
so you just plug the webhooks into your app

I am implementing an architecture using Supabase as a middleware to handle the state and persistence. Here is the flow I've set up: - React Native App: Writes the user message to my Supabase Database. - Supabase (Edge Function): Detects the new message and forwards the payload to the Botpress Messaging API. - Botpress: Processes the input and sends the reply to my - Supabase Webhook (another Edge Function). - Supabase: Receives the bot reply, writes it to the Database. - App: Listens to Supabase Realtime updates to display the new message instantly. So essentially, my app never talks to Botpress directly, Supabase acts as the relay. Does that sound like a standard/robust implementation for the Messaging API?
w
yes sure
the good think about the messaging api is that it doesn't care about anything in your implementation
you just get two webhooks
as long as you're passing them correctly it'll work perfectly

ok thanks i will follow your tutorial
