AI Bot Answering Questions Outside Knowledge Base
# 🤝help
f
Is there a way to prevent the AI bot from searching for answers outside the knowledge base specified in an autonomous node? I tried using the instruction section in the autonomous node, but the bot still provides answers beyond the defined knowledge base.
w
you have to instruct the agent to not answer in case no chunks are returned from the knowledgebase, and also use a LLM model intelligent enough to be able to follow this instruction instead of just spewing hallucinations

@wide-umbrella-5226 @loud-crowd-60573 Even after completely disconnecting and removing the Autonomous Node from my workflow, my bot is still generating detailed answers from the Knowledge Base. Current Flow: Trigger → Standard Node (greeting only). The Autonomous Node is not linked in the workflow. Problem: When a user asks a question (e.g., "how do i help with plantar fasciitis?"), the bot provides a full, sourced answer as if the Autonomous Node were still active. This happens immediately after the greeting, without any node configured to process it. How is this possible? Is there a workspace-level, bot-wide, or default Q&A module that is still active and answering questions independently of the node workflow? If so, how do I locate and disable this setting to regain full control over my bot's responses?
l
Did you re publish your workspace ?
w
i don't think there's something like the global response module you described. does that also happen in the emulator? also, can you send a screenshot of your workflow?
f
@wide-umbrella-5226 @loud-crowd-60573 I have republish it and it does happen in the emulator as well

But in the workflow you can see the trigger is only connected to the standard2 node that has a greeting "Hi thanks for contacting Gait Happens. To help you direct you to the right place, please tell me how I can help" and thats it
