Error with distrobox container not finding OS vers...
# questions
l
I'm trying to generate an ISO using the distrobox container of bluebuild. I keep running into this error in the middle of building:
Copy code
[INFO] => Retrieving OS version from ghcr.io/secureblue/silverblue-main-hardened:latest
[ERROR] => Failed:
  × Failed to create ISO
It doesn't provide any more error information than that. I can pull the image just fine with podman, so I don't see what the actual issue is here.

Try using trace logging (
-vv
) to see more information

Ooo I didn't know I could do trace logging. Thought it stopped at the debug logging. Still not showing much. Here's some of the log right before it fails:
Copy code
[TRACE blue_build_process_management::drivers::podman_driver:619] => PodmanDriver::run(RunOpts {
    image: "ghcr.io/jasonn3/build-container-installer:v1.4.0",
    args: [
        "VARIANT=Kinoite",
        "ISO_NAME=build/<iso_name>.iso",
        "DNF_CACHE=/cache/dnf",
        "SECURE_BOOT_KEY_URL=https://github.com/ublue-os/bazzite/raw/main/secure_boot.der",
        "ENROLLMENT_PASSWORD=universalblue",
        "WEB_UI=false",
        "IMAGE_SRC=oci-archive:/img_src/<buildname>-silverblue.tar.gz",
        "VERSION=43",
    ],
    env_vars: [],
    volumes: [
        RunOptsVolume {
            path_or_vol_name: "<my home>/blue-build-test",
            container_path: "/build-container-installer/build",
        },
        RunOptsVolume {
            path_or_vol_name: "dnf-cache",
            container_path: "/cache/dnf/",
        },
        RunOptsVolume {
            path_or_vol_name: "/tmp/.tmpyy8qcp",
            container_path: "/img_src/",
        },
    ],
    user: None,
    privileged: true,
    rootless: false,
    pull: false,
    remove: true,
    platform: Some(
        LinuxAmd64,
    ),
})
Then this:
Copy code
"sudo" "--preserve-env" "podman" "run" "--cidfile=/tmp/.tmpfKQdjp/cid" "--privileged" "--network=host" "--rm" "--volume" "<my home>/blue-build-test:/build-container-installer/build" "--volume" "dnf-cache:/cache/dnf/" "--volume" "/tmp/.tmpyy8qcp:/img_src/" "ghcr.io/jasonn3/build-container-installer:v1.4.0" "VARIANT=Kinoite" "ISO_NAME=build/<iso_name>.iso" "DNF_CACHE=/cache/dnf" "SECURE_BOOT_KEY_URL=https://github.com/ublue-os/bazzite/raw/main/secure_boot.der" "ENROLLMENT_PASSWORD=universalblue" "WEB_UI=false" "IMAGE_SRC=oci-archive:/img_src/<buildname>-silverblue.tar.gz" "VERSION=43"
[ERROR blue_build::commands:32] => Failed:
  × Failed to create ISO

That log line before the error is what tries to run. Try running that in your terminal
l
Looks like nothing happens at all
removed sudo to test userspace and it pulls the image into userspace, so it's running the podman container to the best of my knowledge
This part continues to be my problem. I've also tried running bluebuild to build an ISO on a bunch of VM's and I can't seem to successfully build an ISO.
All of the VM's keep saying they have run out of space when that's not the case.
g
It's probably running out of space because /tmp is not set to have enough space in your partitioning. You can change the tempdir with
--tempdir
